Hi, I’m James Bayes, and welcome to my very first blog post.
For over a decade, my life was shaped by my career in policing. It gave me discipline, resilience, and the ability to stay calm in high-pressure situations. But as rewarding as that role was, it was also demanding, and when my daughter came along, I realised I wanted more balance. I wanted time, to be present with my family, to build something of my own, and to do work that felt creative as well as practical.
That’s how JB Creative was born. It started small, just me, a few tools, and a willingness to take on local jobs. Lawns, hedges, odd DIY tasks… anything that gave me a chance to help people look after their homes and enjoy their spaces. Over time, what began as a side project has grown into a multi-service business, offering property maintenance, landscaping, training, and even consultancy.
For me, this isn’t just about gardening or fixing things. It’s about trust. In my old career, people had to rely on me in difficult circumstances. Now, clients trust me to look after their homes and projects with the same reliability. That’s something I take seriously.
So that’s where I’ve come from and where I’m heading. Over the next few blogs, I’ll share tips on lawn care, hedge trimming, and more, but also a bit about me, the challenges, and the joys of running a local business.
Thanks for reading,
